Atom Updated to 1.0

February 21, 2006 / Some readers have been reporting problems with Dead Reckoning's syndication feed (in Firefox and Google Home) and today I finally went in search of answers. It turns out that the Atom script bundled with WordPress 1.5 (the Dude has not yet upgraded) has all kinds of problems associated with the version in circulation at the time (v0.3).

Some readers have been reporting problems with Dead Reckoning’s syndication feed (in Firefox and Google Home) and today I finally went in search of answers. It turns out that the Atom script bundled with WordPress 1.5 (the Dude has not yet upgraded) produces some problems because the version in circulation at the time (v0.3) has since become deprecated. So I have updated Dead Reckoning’s Atom script to version 1.0. As a result of the update the feed is now validating correctly. In theory this should mean no more problems with your RSS reader/feed aggregator, but in practice one never really knows until the changes have been thoroughly tested.
