Home Page Update
The Zero to One-Eighty home page now carries links to the most recent Dead Reckoning posts, located in the page’s sidebar (under “Dispatches”). Try it out and see what you think. As an extra treat, the main page also includes the blog’s RSS/Atom feed, so if your browser can detect such things, it will no doubt mention it to you discretely next time you drop by and offer you a peek at the latest entries.
Forthcoming on Zero to One-Eighty
This month Zero to One-Eighty’s photo archive, Longitudes, is undergoing reconstructive surgery. The 2003–2004 and 2004–2005 photo series are now complete; 2002-2003 will be finished in a few days time. Updates for 2005–2006 will be forthcoming by the end of the month. To display thumbnails all you have to do is click on the Longitudes link above. To view full-size images, simply click on the image. The photo will appear in the middle of your screen, with captions at the bottom. You can also view captions by hovering your cursor over the thumbnail shots. These updates have taken a while because as well as recoding the HTML for each series, I am also pruning some of the more extravagantly populated sets, standardising the image dimensions, optimising the files, and giving each and every photo a unique caption. (To be completely honest, it’s not every single photo, but so rarely will you discover two shots with the same caption that I challenge you to find them!) The best news is that once Longitudes is up-to-date, all new sets will be accompanied by a tell-all blog entry as soon as they are published. And thanks to today’s updates you’ll be in the know about new photos simply by visiting the home page.
Along with some additional stylistic adjustments, these updates will bring Zero to One-Eighty to version 1 status by the end of March. Phase One, if you like. I’ve already got a boatload of ideas for Phase Two, but first things first. I’d be happy to know what you think of these developments, and of any ideas you might have about where to go from here, so leave a comment if you’re in the mood. Thanks for stopping by, and one way or another, I hope we talk soon.
Update: Dead Reckoning and Longitudes are no longer available. Please see the Changes page for additional information.
