The 2005 documentary Zizek! was on cable tonight. Sometimes it really pays to click that clicker. The last time I saw academic talk this good was the commentary supplement on the Children of Men DVD, featuring Slavoj Žižek. Most intellectuals have good days and bad days, and when it comes to public speaking, they don’t always hit the high notes. But Žižek nails it every single time. If you’ve got that old feeling about the world—you don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind—then Žižek is your Morpheus. Here’s the trailer.

Dan: You’re right, it has been a while :-)

Jefe: I loved Children of Men. It affected me very much. Elena said it best, “It’s like a horror movie about a future that’s… next month.”
