The first account
Dead Reckoning is my web log, a pilot study in more ways than one. People often ask me to write more, so this is my answer. One more blog headed for warmer waters and a place in the sun. I make no promises as to relevance, grammar or style. But I can be counted on to go down with the galleon if it suffers a decisive blow. No doubt this project will require the advice of others, so pony up and make your own contribution. But all ye who enter here be forewarned: there shall be ranting and raving as the situation demands, and changes in course with little or no warning. I’m not sure why. But I know this: nautical metaphors are extremely demanding. …Watch out for splinters.
